Davis College Goes Division II

Davis College will soon be part of Division II athletics.
Davis College will soon be part of Division II athletics.

It will be joining the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, which has 85 schools in the organization.

For years, Davis had been part of the National Christian College Athletics Association, but left due to a lack of members in the Northeast. For the past four years, Davis's sports teams have been playing an independent schedule.

Athletic Director Dan Rathmell says being members of the USCAA will help the college.

"This will be a huge recruiting tool for us. High school student athletes love the ability to be able to compete for a championship and now that's something we'll be able to provide is that opportunity," said Rathmell.

Davis has men's and women's basketball, men's soccer and a women's volleyball team.

The college is joining Division II on July 1st.
