Chenango Forks Prepares for Upcoming Season

It's that time of year, when the boys of fall pull out the shoulder pads and helmets and prepare for the upcoming season.

Last season, Chenango Forks won the third state championship in school history.

A major reason for that success, a core senior leadership led by the dominating running game of Isaiah Zimmer, has graduated leaving a few holes on this year's roster.

Head Coach David Hogan said he likes the group he has this year and says his message to the team is to take it one game at a time.

"We want to keep everything in perspective. Last year was last year, we still have it and no one can take it away from us, but it's really focusing game by game, day by day even and trying to get better," said Hogan.

"Every single practice has been the same, we slept at the school, we are just trying to do everything the same as last year and even turn it up a bit. We have a bunch of new people but our secondary and defense is as good as last year, same kids and I think we are going to make another run," said guard/linebacker Hunter Luybli.

The Blue Devils kick off their season at home on September 5 against Johnson City.
