Binghamton Comprehensive Plan Draft Now Available

The City of Binghamton now has a draft of its revised comprehensive plan.
The City of Binghamton now has a draft of its revised comprehensive plan. It describes the city's policies for land use, neighborhoods, transportation, infrastructure, economic development and quality of life.

The blueprint has taken about 18 months to put together.

It's divided into numerous sections including zoning, the environment and housing. Mayor Rich David and City Council are asking for public input.

"We can work with multiple consultants, we can all have ideas, and we do have many ideas, on the growth and development of the city, but it is critical that we hear from the residents," said David.

You can view the 2014 draft at BluePrintBinghamton.com.

The first of five public meetings on it will be held May 5th. The schedule is also posted online.

The last comprehensive plan for the city was adopted 11 years ago.
