Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bears have declared wide receiver Marquess Wilson as the team's designated to return player on injured reserve.

Wilson, a seventh-round pick of the Bears in 2013, is recovering from a fractured clavicle he sustained during training camp. The 21-year-old will not be eligible to return to the active roster until after Chicago's Week 9 bye in early November.

The Washington State product was expected to compete for Chicago's No. 3 receiver job, a role that will now be most likely held by recent free-agent addition Santonio Holmes going into the regular season.

Kelvin Hayden was re-signed by the Bears to fill the open roster spot, three days after the veteran cornerback was released during final cuts.

Hayden, who owns 12 interceptions and 44 passes defensed over a nine-year career with Indianapolis, Atlanta and Chicago, recorded 37 tackles, one interception and five pass breakups with the Bears in 2012. The 31-year-old Chicago native missed all of last season with a torn hamstring.
