A contract signed by Babe Ruth has sold for a whopping $1 million at auction.

The paperwork was signed by the star when he joined the Boston Red Sox in 1918, two years before moving to the New York Yankees.

The contract went up for auction in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday and eventually sold for a top bid of $1.02 million.

Other items sold as part of the Sports Legends Museum auction included a baseball bat signed by Ruth, which fetched $96,000, and a glove worn by Mickey Mantle, which sold for $180,000.
