Arrestingly Soulful “Beaucoup Blue” Coming to 6 On The Square

From 6 On The Square:

Saturday, February 1, at 7:30 p.m., 6 On The Square (6OTS) is proud to welcome back the nationally touring band, Beaucoup Blue. David and Adrian Mowry are Beaucoup Blue, a Philadelphia based father and son, Americana duo. They’re a Billboard Magazine World Song Contest Grand Prize Winner and the “Grand Prize Winner of the Telluride Blues & Brews Acoustic Competition” as well as top 40 on AMA’s Americana, Roots, & Folk radio charts. They mesh together their blues roots with traditional and contemporary styles to perform their own brand of bluesy “Americana” music with an original and relevant edge. Hear for yourself two generations coming together for the common good of great music everywhere.

Although blues is a staple in their repertoire, Beaucoup Blue’s original music is also an innovative mix of Folk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Country and Bluegrass. A wide range of instruments like six and twelve string guitars, slide guitar and round neck resonator guitar, compliment the superb harmony of the two soulful voices, only a father and son could achieve. The unique results are a rich sound that combines grace and grit which both haunts and mesmerizes audiences.

Richard Cucarro from Acoustic Live NYC said, “David's slide guitar is the first thing you notice. In tandem with Adrian's deft finger-picking its precision and grace is the aural equivalent of a hot fudge sundae.”

A fan wrote, “These guys are amazing. They are down to earth and just plain talented. If they come to your town, don't miss them!”

For an evening of arrestingly soulful blues-based music, tickets are $12 (plus $2 service charge) until the date of the performance, $15 at the door. Ticket price for students, under age 18, are always $2; please call to make a student reservation! Doors open one-hour prior to show time. For further information, call (607) 843-OTS6 (6876) or visit http://www.6onthesquare.org/.

While at 6OTS -or before the show- be sure to view the exhibit of photography by Oxford artist Dan Tefft. His artistic approach to everyday life has won him much praise. The exhibit will run through March 8.

In addition, tickets are on sale now for two 6OTS raffles. One is for a special Autographed Quilt. This quilted wall-hanging has been signed by a year’s worth of 6OTS recording stars! All the talented singer-songwriting-musicians will continue to autograph the quilt until the drawing. These tickets are $2 each or an arm's length for $20.
The second raffle is for a 50/50, and these tickets are $10 each. Only 200 tickets were printed, so the first place winner could win up to $1000. There will be a second prize of a tote filled with 25 CDs. These drawings will be held at the Anniversary Show on June 21. All raffle proceeds support programming at 6OTS.

Don’t miss these future performances: Joe Jencks (a PEO fundraiser) Fri, Feb. 7; Loretta Hagen on Feb. 22; and Brooks Williams on March 8, all at 7:30 p.m. Doors open one-hour prior to show time. For further information, call (607) 843-OTS6 (6876) or visit the website at www.6onthesquare.org for tickets and future event information.
Singers, poetry readers, musicians...the next “Open Mic Night” is Feb. 20 (and every third Thursday of each month), at 7:30 p.m. Come to perform or come to listen; it’s always free admission.
