Stormteam Forecast

Another jet stream disturbance will drop southeast out of the Great Lakes Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Here are the weather headlines for the middle of the work week:

• Drier air building in on northwest winds for Tuesday.
• In spite of a return of sunshine, Tuesday will still be about 10 degrees below normal for late July.
• Unsettled after for mid-week, we run the risk for a few showers or storms
• Still question marks for the weekend.

Monday’s out of season rainmaker has departed New York state and we finally have a chance to dry out. There will be quite a bit of fair weather cumulus clouds at times. In spite of brighter skies it will still be cool by late July standards, some 10 degrees below normal this afternoon.

Another jet stream disturbance will drop southeast out of the Great Lakes Wednesday and Wednesday night. There may be a few showers or brief thunderstorms with that. However, in its wake, drier air will return for Thursday afternoon.

The end of the week:

There is a little weather drama developing with regard to whether there will be even a chance for an afternoon t-shower this weekend. Will the air coming in later Thursday be dry enough to prevent any afternoon thundershowers Saturday or Sunday? Right now, we have a slight chance for an afternoon t-storm in to forecast for the weekend. But conditions for that will be marginal at best. More about that as we go through the week.
