Stormteam Forecast

A nice day over the Southern Tier on Friday. There should be a good deal of sun and it will turn out seasonably cool with highs in the mid 70s.

Here are the weather headlines for the end of the work week:

• Day weather will persist through Friday and even Saturday.
• Warmth and humidity returns for Labor Day Weekend.
• Threat for a shower/storm Sunday and Monday; best chance Sunday

Friday looks to be a nice day. A few clouds may start showing up later in the day. However, with light winds and lots of sunshine, the day will have a late summer day feel to it. That will change going into the weekend.

The humidity should climb quite a bit this weekend. On Saturday, southwest winds will start to drive the temperature up a bit. The humidity will climb slowly during the day. The weather should remain dry through the day as there is nothing in the atmosphere to trigger any showers and storms in spite of the return of moisture.

Saturday night and Sunday, a weakening cold front will approach. That may be enough to trigger a few showers or t-storms. That front will move to our east Sunday and collapse, or fall apart.

Monday, southerly winds will be with us again keeping the humidity up a bit. There is a slight chance for a few showers or thunderstorms.

As far as the holiday weekend goes as a whole, while some rain is in the forecast for Sunday and Monday, the showers will be broken up. No one day appears to be a washout.
