State Education Commissioner John King is coming to Greater Binghamton next Monday for two forums on the state's adoption of the Common Core curriculum and other school reforms.

King will hold a public presentation Monday evening at West Middle School in Binghamton. At previous events, King has faced withering criticism from parents and teachers opposed to the Common Core and the manner in which it's been instituted. King will also participate in a taped discussion of the standards at the studios of WSKG in Vestal during the afternoon on Monday.

The evening forum takes place from 6 to 8 inside the auditorium at West Middle. Members of the public who wish to speak will receive a numbered index card upon entry. Following a half hour presentation, there will be 90 minutes for public comment with remarks limited to two minutes each.

The forum is hosted by Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and will also feature former Assemblyman Jim Tallon who is a member of the Board of Regents.
