Citizens Bank Provides Donation to Food Bank in Recognition of Customer Experience Week

From Food Bank of the Southern Tier:

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier announces that a generous gift in the amount of $2,000 was received from Citizens Bank in recognition of Customer Experience Week. These funds will be used to support the Food Bank’s hunger relief mission.

During the week of October 7th, Citizens Bank celebrated Customer Experience Week in conjunction with Customer Service Week, an international event devoted to recognizing the importance of customer service and to honoring the people who serve and support customers with the highest degree of care and professionalism.

“In honor of our customers during this week, the bank is making donations to food banks across our footprint,” said James P. Gaspo, President, Citizens Bank and RBS Citizens, New York. “Meals will be provided to 100,000 families in need throughout the upcoming holiday season. Developing and supporting a healthy community matters to those we serve, and that matters to us,” added Gaspo.

Each week, over 11,000 individuals visit a hunger relief member agency served by the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. In 2012, the Food Bank distributed over 7.8 million pounds of food to neighbors in need across the six Southern Tier counties of Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, and Tompkins.
