Carthage vs. Union-Endicott Preview

The 18th ranked Class A U-E Tigers will look for their 2nd straight trip to the State Semifinals when they go up against Carthage on Friday night.
This weekend the Section IV High School football teams will have home field advantage in the State Quarterfinals. And it all starts with some Friday Night Lights. The 18th ranked, Class A, Union-Endicott Tigers will look for their 2nd straight trip to the State Semifinals when they go up against Carthage Friday at 7:00 pm at Vestal High School. U-E enters the game with a record of 7-3 and on a 5 game win streak. The Carthage Comets are ranked 16th in Class A with a 9-1 record. But The Comets will have to contend with a Tigers offense firing on all cylinders right now. Quarterback Joey Orlando has racked up 2,000 plus passing yards, 19 touchdowns and has weapons in CJ Krowiak, Nick Yesensky and Sammy Davis. And when the game is on the line, these guys step up to the challenge. But that 'clutch' characteristic is something Head Coach Tom Baleno says Carthage has too.

Tom Baleno says, "Carthege is a very good football team we've been watching them on film. The last few games have been down to the wire. They have a lot of character. They win their games in the last minutes of the game. In turn we did the same thing playing against Vestal. We kind of had that game go all the way to the end as well so I think this is going to be a hard fought battle for four quarters."
