Business of the Week: Binghamton Philharmonic

The Binghamton Philharmonic is proof that even a non-profit can be honored as the Greater Binghamton Chamber's Business of the Week.
The Binghamton Philharmonic is proof that even a non-profit can be honored as the Greater Binghamton Chamber's Business of the Week.

Chamber staff joined the orchestra's leadership to celebrate its 16 years of Chamber membership. The Philharmonic, which is in its 58th season, employs 60 professional musicians and five staff members including artistic director and maestro Jose-Luis Novo and its new executive director Heidi Kelley.

Development Director, Brittany Hall, says the organization relies on support from the local business community.

"The Chamber helps us in so many ways.  Getting in touch with businesses, corporations and our sponsors.  It's a tremendous asset to have in Binghamton, New York," said Hall.

The Philharmonic has been growing its library of sheet music over recent years. Its season runs October through May with eight shows encompassing three series, traditional classical, pops and chamber music. A couple of highlights this year are a tribute to composer Benjamin Britten and a Christmas Pops Concert. For ticket information, call 722-6717.
