The Baden-Powell Council of the Boy Scouts of America is the Greater Binghamton Chamber Business of the Week.

The council currently serves 4,000 youth across seven counties in New York and Pennsylvania. It also owns and operates two camps, the Tuscarora Scout Reservation near Windsor and Camp Barton on Cayuga Lake. The Baden-Powell Council's offices on Route 12 in Chenango Forks include a well-stocked store full of uniforms, books and other scout accessories.

Roger Hoyt has been Scout Executive for the past four years. He says the organization relies on the 1,000 adult volunteers who help carry out the mission.

Scouting includes Cub Scouts, which is for boys in 1st through 5th grades. Boy Scouts, for grades 6 through age 18. And Venturing, which focuses on high adventure outdoor activities, which is open to boys and girls ages 14 to 20. For more information about a pack, troop or crew near you, go to beascout.org.
