The 19th annual Thanksgiving Day dinner at Binghamton High School will be Thursday.
The 19th annual Thanksgiving Day dinner at Binghamton High School will be Thursday.

We stopped by this morning, as students were preparing for the big event. It takes about 300 students, faculty and staff from the high school to put on. Typically, about 1,500 people are served. Here are some of the food figures: 5,00 pounds of turkey, 800 pounds of stuffing, 30 gallons of gravy, 550 pounds of sweet potatoes, 420 pounds of corn and 300 pies will be served.

The school's National Honor Society hosts the event.

"I love being able to actually talk with the people in the community and get to know them and kind of expose what Binghamton High School really is about," said NHS president Kathryn Dura.

"I like doing something that I know is helping people and seeing the amount of people that come every year, it still surprises me, because every year there are more," said senior Anyah Wright.

The dinner runs from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Binghamton High School. It is free and everyone in the community is invited to come.
