All-State H.S. Football Selections

The New York State Sportswriters Association released their All-State Selections on Tuesday and the titles just keep on coming for Section IV.
Sure it's January 2014 but we are not quite done celebrating the 2013 High School football season. Tuesday the New York State Sportswriters Association released their All-State Selections. And the titles just keep on coming for Section IV.

Kyle Gallagher, quarterback of Maine-Endwell is the Class B Player of the Year. As a senior he leaves behind quite the legacy. Since he assumed the starting quarterback role his record is 34-0. Even with a separated shoulder in the State Championship Game he still led the Spartans to their 3rd straight title. In Class C, it's Chenango Forks' running back Isaiah Zimmer who received the Co-Player of the Year Honor. Zimmer, who rushed for a program record 2,054 yards, also led his team to a State Title. In his final performance at the Championship game, he left his mark with 175 yards which garnered him Game MVP.

But we're not done yet with the awards for Section IV. We've got 10 first team selections. In Class B, both from Maine-Endwell, running back Darnell Woolfolk and defensive back Alec Wisniewski. In Class C, offensive lineman Hunter Luybli, defensive lineman Mike Zurenda, and linebacker Ryan Bronson. All from Chenango Forks. In Class D, Tioga's sohpomore RB Jesse Manuel, Tioga offensive lineman Dylan Babcock, d-lineman Austin Dean from Sidney. Another Tioga Tiger defensive lineman Carter Jackson, and from Elmira Notre Dame Linebacker Tom Agan.

So that's two state championships, two Players of the Year, and 10 First Team Selections for Section IV.
