From Finger Lakes Health Care Federal Credit Union:

Several local credit unions, including Finger Lakes Health Care Federal Credit Union, are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for robbing the Finger Lakes Health Care Federal Credit Union, at 519 Hart Street in Elmira, NY on December 4, 2013.

During the robbery, Subject #1 was wearing a dark color coat, blue jeans, a black mask, dark color gloves, and dark color sneakers with a white sole. Subject # 2 was wearing a dark color coat, dark color jeans, dark color sneakers with a white sole, orange mask, and orange gloves. Subject #1 brandished a black handgun while he demanded money and threatened credit union employees.

Following the robbery, both subjects fled the credit union on foot and then ran east on Hart Street toward Walnut Street where they may have entered a 1990’s to early 2000’s light color four-door sedan.

This is the second robbery at this location in recent months.

"Robbing a credit union is not only a crime of property, but one of violence and a federal offense punishable by longer sentences," said Robert Mace, President of Finger Lakes Health Care Federal Credit Union. "Our credit union, along with our neighboring credit unions, intends to take any steps necessary to create a more secure workplace for our employees and a safer community for us all. Vigilance and support by the public we serve is vital.”

If you have any information about this robbery, please contact the Elmira Police Department directly at 607-737-5626 or through its anonymous tip line at 607-271-HALT (4258).
