Jamie Greubel's journey into the sport of bobsledding is actually a common tail. They often pull from the world of track and field, which was where the future Olympian excelled as a member of the Big Red.
Jamie's aunt and uncle reside in Corning, which also served as a quick getaway during the Cornell semesters.
While the tale maybe common, it doesn't mean it was an easy transition. But her perseverance paid off.
Jamie was even able to practice in Sochi last November, and as a driver, that familiarity can only help in the coming days. Practice and experience are vital when dealing with the simplicity that is the design of a bobsled.
Not all of Jamie’s family will be in attendance at Sochi, but Terri and her husband Warren have purchased every possible channel and media to watch the Olympics, no matter the time of day. If the Olympic bobsledder listens carefully, she may be able to hear the supports from the twin tiers, but she'll certainly be able to feel it.
