SU women's lacrosse suffer first loss of 2014

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Two of the nation's best women's lacrosse teams went head-to-head inside the Carrier Dome on Monday.

Gary Gait's second-ranked Orange hosted his former team, third-ranked Maryland.

The game was close throughout with the Terps earning the win in the end 12-10.

Sophomore Kala Treanor recorded her sixth hat trick of the season finishing with three goals and one assist for SU.

Former CBA star Katie Webster added two goals for the 6-1 Orange.

Maryland was led by midfielder Kelly McPartland who tallied three goals and two assists.

With the victory, the Terrapins improve to 8-0 on the season.

Syracuse will look to bounce back Saturday at home against Florida.

The Orange stays home to face No. 4/5 Florida on Saturday, March 15 at noon in the Carrier Dome.
