Jeremy Maclin signs with Baltimore

Bills miss out on free agent wide receiver

Buffalo - For the last week, LeSean McCoy and the Buffalo Bills were pushing hard to sign free agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin but on Monday he decided to head to Baltimore.

The Ravens announced a two year deal with the 29 year old who was released by Kansas City on June 2nd.

Baltimore lost their top two passing targets in Steve Smith to retirement and tight end Dennis Pitta to a hip injury this off season.

Maclin will be paired back up with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg in Baltimore who worked with Maclin his first four seasons in Philadelphia.

2016 was the worst season in Maclin's career catching just 44 passes for 536 yards as he was hampered by a groin injury.

The Bills were hoping to add depth to their wide receiving core after the losing Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin to free agency, as well as the healthy concerns to Sammy Watkins who is coming off his second foot surgery.

Josina Anderson from ESPN reported that the Bills weren't even Maclin's second choice as the final decision came down to either Baltimore or Philadelphia.

Buffalo's focus for finding help for Tyrod Taylor could shift to the Jets who are looking to part ways with veteran Eric Decker.
