Yankees Defeat Royals, 8-1

James Shields and the Royals open up a ten game homestand against the Yankees who are looking to match their longest winning streak of the season in a one game make up for a previous postponement.

Bottom of the third, Yankees up 1-0, Mike Moustakas with the solo shot to right, and the game is tied at one.

Top of the 4th, Stephen Drew blasts one to right, Yankees lead 2-1.

Top of the 7th, Martin Prado homers to left, 3-1 Yankees

Later in the inning, Jacoby Ellsbury singles to right, Ichiro Suzuki scores, 4-1 Yankees.

Next batter, Derek Jeter hits one off of Shields' foot and into left for a single, Zach Wheeler scores and the Yankees lead 5-1.

They go on to win 8-1.
