After two disappointing losses in a row, the Yankees were looking to avoid being swept at home in an afternoon matinee against the Houston Astros.

Bottom of the 2nd, Chase Headley hits the ball to deep right field, off the wall, two runs score and the Yankees lead 2-0.

Brandon McCarthy on the hill for the Yankees and he was just mowing batters down.

Dexter Fowler can't check his swing, Marc Krauss strikes out looking, Chris Carter can't figure it out either.

What about Carlos Corporan? Nope he goes down looking as well.

McCarthy throwing a shutout through five innings, in the seventh, Astros down 3-0, John Singleton fouls one over the Astros dugout and Chris Rock makes the catch. Guess his hands are as good as his jokes.

Later in the inning, Corporan flies out to left and McCarthy gets out of the jam.

McCarthy pitched a complete game, striking out eight batters and the Yankees win 3-0.
