It's that time of year; the 2014 Triple Cities Golf Association Amateur tournament is coming to town.

The event has a strong field of about 70 competitors looking to take home the prestigious title.

The tournament will start on Friday morning at Vestal Hills Country Club.

Round two will be on Saturday at Enjoie Golf Club and the tournament will conclude on Sunday at Binghamton Country Club.

TCGA president Tom Hackett says it's great to get players of all ages together for a great competition.

"It's really important to have an event like this because it gives us all something to play for, we all want to win it and it kind of is that crown. It gives a chance for seniors, juniors and men all to play in the same group, be paired together and make new relationships," said Hackett.

The winner of the tournament is granted an automatic entry into the 2014 New York State Amateur which will be held at Bellevue Country Club July 22-24th.
