Over the past few seasons, there's been two certainties in Tioga. The Tigers are going to run and the Tigers are going to win.
After another long post season run, the Tigers at back to work, as they know what it takes to be a championship caliber team.
Tioga returns two all-state backs in Jesse Manuel and Brad Jump, as well as 13 other returning starters that have all seen significant playing time.
It's still early, but Tioga is keeping a keen eye on which of the young up and comers will fill in the voids by the graduated seniors.
"We all love defense, we all love to hit and this year we have a lot of kids who are really fast so I think our defense is going to be flying around," said senior Josh Kithcart.
"Our backfield is definitely our strength, where we see the most returning and we have a lot of skilled guys which is nice and we are going to look to utliize some more weapons this year and I think that is going to be a great strength for us. A little bit of a reloading year for us on the line, and we are going to see some new faces there, but again these are guys that have been with us for a year or two and just looking for their opportunity," said head coach Nick Aiello.
The Tigers open the season on the road against Newark Valley, Saturday September 6 at 1:30 p.m.
