On to some high school football as we get ready for the state regional finals this weekend.
In Class B, it's Chenango Forks taking on Homer.
Forks took care of Norwich in the Section IV championship 49-21, propelling them into the match-up with the Trojans this week.
Blue Devils Head Coach Dave Hogan believes that the experience his team has had in big games over the past few years gives them a huge advantage.
"We have quite a few kids that have had that experience. Still going to get nervous and stuff, but it's best if you go in with confidence and focus. I think that experience should help us," said Hogan.
One of the biggest driving forces behind the Blue Devils success this season has been running back Jeremiah Allen, who was named game MVP in the section title game after going off for 272 yards and four scores.
Homer head coach Gary Podsiedlik believes that stopping Allen is a must.
"So, we're going to have to play football, in good football position. Sound, do our job, and trust our teammates around us. That's how you're going to have success against a really good young man on an excellent team," said Podsiedlik.
The Blue Devils and Trojans hit the field at Ty Cobb Stadium Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
