The Saints have had their struggles over the last couple years, but they were able to finish last season on a high note thanks to a week nine win over Susquehanna Valley. The win gave them a 5-4 record. If the Saints are going to finish over .500 and have a shot at the playoffs they will have to overcome a few challenges, one being their roster size.
With a roster just over twenty players, the team will have to be in superb shape and be disciplined on both sides of the ball. Despite these obstacles, don't count the Saints out because they say they don't mind playing the role of the underdog.
Senior Linebacker/Guard Sam Crowley says: "A lot of teams might underestimate us but we're working harder than anyone else out there and we know what we have to do and we know that we can do it, so it kind of gives us a little bit of a chip on our shoulder."
Head Coach Brian Mister says: "We think that we can put a lot of points on the board. Hopefully slow some teams down defensively, but we think we can put a lot of points on and hopefully put pressure on other teams to try to keep up."
The Saints open the season on the road against Delhi September 6th.
