S.C.C. betters Owego 71-61 to advance to the STAC Championship

Playoff time is here for high school basketball.

We have two tremendous match-ups set for the STAC finals on Wednesday.

In the girl's game, a match-up that I've personally been hoping to see all year.

Class AA's #4 Elmira taking on Class B's #2, and undefeated, Susquehanna Valley.

In the boy's game, Ithaca will look to repeat as STAC champions as they get set for #6 Seton Catholic Central.

The Saints took care of #17 Owego on Monday.

Let's see how they got it done.

An absolutely electric atmosphere as both the S.C.C. Greenhouse and the "O" Zone came out for this one.

Early on, Leo Gallagher drops it off for Peter Hartrick, and he gets all three of those.

Saints jumped out to an early 8-0 lead.

But here comes Owego.

Christian Sage in the corner.

He knocks down that three ball.

Then, Sage finds Kobe Bogart from beyond the arc.

Owego led after one, but Seton would take it from there.

Marcus Dyes hucks it cross court for Tommy Dempsey, and Dempsey drains it.

Both Dempsey and Gallagher would drop 17 points.

Bogart had 20 for Owego.

Seton goes on to win this one 71-61.

Saints and Little Red at Maine-Endwell for the STAC championship on Wednesday.
