Rumble Ponies win Binghamton home opener

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The start of a new era in Binghamtom baseball is here. 

The Rumble Ponies faced off against the Erie Seawolves in their home opener Thursday night.

Bottom of the first, scoreless game, David Thompson up to the plate, and sends one through the hole to left field for the single.

Cody Decker up next,  and he puts one into right field, and Thompson makes his way to third.

Two outs, runners on first and third, and LJ Mazzilli smacks one, all the way to the wall, but its caught to end the inning.

Bottom of the second now, 0-0 game, and Tomas Nido launches one, and its going, going, gone! 

The first homer in the newly renovated NYSEG Stadium!  Rumble Ponies leading 1-0!

Bottom of the third, Same score, Nido back at the plate, sends one bouncing to third base. 

Nido out at first, but Matt Oberste crosses  home plate.  2-0 Rumble Ponies.

Next batter up, 2 outs, Mazzilli on second, and Luis Guillorme hits one through center field, bringing in Mazzilli.

Rumble Ponies up 3-0 and would go on to beat Erie 7-5 in their home opener!
