Rumble Ponies take two from Sea Dogs on Saturday and Sunday

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have been on the road for what feels like the entire season.

After wrapping up a four-game series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at NYSEG Stadium on May 5th, the Ponies rolled out of town for an eight-game, seven-day road trip.

After dropping two of three to Hartford to begin the trip, Binghamton headed to Portland where, again, they would drop their first two.

But, the weekend gave them a new life, and they took full advantage.

After beating the Sea Dogs 5-1 on Friday, the Ponies doubled their run effort the next two games, taking care of Portland 10-7 Saturday, and then 10-4 yesterday.

Jeff McNeil had himself a big weekend, as he went a combined 4-for-9 and hit for the cycle on Sunday.

McNeil, along with Peter Alonso, Patrick Mazeika, and Levi Michael went deep for the Ponies this weekend.

Binghamton is tied for the Eastern League lead with 34 home runs this season, sharing the spot with Hartford.

Binghamton kicks off a three game set with Erie beginning this evening at 6:35 pm.
