BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - On Monday afternoon inside Binghamton High School's Patriot Hall, senior Wyatt Merta signed his National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse at the College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Merta, joined by his family as well as teammates and friends, is a stand-out on the lacrosse team at Binghamton.
He was named to the Section IV All-Star 2nd Team last season as well as being a team captain. Merta is also the goalkeeper for the Patriots soccer team.
After signing, we spoke to Wyatt about how Saint Rose became his destination next year.
"Definitely the campus, and then also the coach and the team. I went there to practice with the team actually like two months ago, and I just got automatically accepted. It was just such a great moment. I think that was honestly the moment that I really decided that I wanted to go to Saint Rose," said Merta.
Wyatt still has one lacrosse season left at Binghamton, and he says he's looking forward to enjoying his senior year and having a fun time.
Congratulations to Wyatt and his family.
