BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The latest high school football rankings were released Wednesday morning, and we had some changes this week.
Class AA remains vacant of any Section IV teams.
As for Class A, after their upset victory over Union-Endicott last Friday, the Vestal Golden Bears find themselves at #23 this week.
As for the Tigers, they drop from #11 out of the rankings completely following the loss.
It just goes to show how competitive teams in the state are.
In Class B, the Chenango Forks Blue Devils remain in the #2 spot.
They are joined in the rankings by #19 Susquehanna Valley, who moved up a spot from a week ago.
And oh yeah, these two meet this Saturday at Blue Devils Stadium.
Newark Valley continues to reign supreme in Class C.
They stand alone as far as Section IV teams in this class.
But, they have a clash this weekend at home against the #1 team in Class D, Sidney.
The Warriors remain atop the rankings again coming off a bye week, and will be challenged in the aforementioned game with the Cardinals.
Rounding out the top 25 in D, Tioga moves up to #13, and Unatego/Franklin and Bainbridge-Guilford join the rankings, at #17 and #20 respectively.
Among those dropping out of the rankings along with Union-Endicott were Norwich in Class B and Lansing in Class C.
We'll give you a rundown of all the games coming up this weekend Thursday on NewsChannel 34 at 11.
