Michelle Wie was looking for her first Major championship win on the final day at Pinehurst.

Wie started the day tied for the lead but after taking control early she started to hear footsteps. Those footsteps belonged to Stacy Lewis.

On the 13th hole, Lewis drained the birdie putt. Lewis finishes at even par. She had eight birdies on the day, the most in a final round at the US Open.

Wie had a three shot lead going into 16, but after a poor club decision out of the fairway bunker, her ball finds the native area.

She would take a one stroke penalty for an unplayable lie and make double bogey to cut her lead to one.

Cue the collapse right? Wrong.

Wie made long downhill putt for birdie on 17 to get back to 2 under.

On 18, Wie would make the short putt for par and wins her first Major championship.

She was the only player to finish the tournament under par.
