The Wildcats are prepping for another great season, but will do so with a smaller senior class.
Johnson City beat Norwich in the opening round of the playoffs last year before falling to eventual state champ Maine-Endwell. Not a bad season by any stretch.
This year's squad is excited to show off the results of their hard work on the brand new stadium that is close to being finished.
The team says execution and teamwork will be the keys to success this season.
"It's just execution and making less mistakes. I think sometimes we have had mistakes at critical points in games that we have to cut down on. It's really execution and not making mistakes at critical times," said head coach Fred Deinhardt.
"Definitely a lot more teamwork. We lost a lot of seniors so we are trying to make up for that. Hopefully we have a really good team to go in and absolutely take it to the teams we are hoping to play," said guard Kyle Bagley.
Johnson City opens the season on the road September 6 against Chenango Forks.
