ENDICOTT, N.Y. - After a break in the action on Wednesday, high school basketball was back in full swing on Thursday.
The night began at Union-Endicott High School.
The Tigers boy's basketball team hosting the Maine-Endwell Spartans.
U-E with possession, Dylan Whitney with the jumper, off the back of the rim.
But, Matt Armstrong is there to clean up for the put back.
How about this, right off the inbound, O.J. DeSantis with the bucket for Maine-Endwell.
Whitney again, the drive and pull-up jumper, and this time, he sinks it.
Now, it's Tarry time.
Sadeeq from deep, bang! At the buzzer to end the half.
The Tigers would take a six-point lead into the half and hold on to win this one by a final of 69-64.
Next stop, Vestal High School where the Golden Bears took on the Horseheads Blue Raiders.
Vestal's Gabe Whiteman creates a little space for himself.
Then, pops the j from deep, and nails it.
Horseheads looking to answer now, and it's Andrew McLaughlin from downtown.
Now talk about a stretch pass!
Michael Limoncelli finds Marcus Hayes for the bucket.
Matt Thrasher drives the lane and gets the floater to fall for the Golden Bears.
Then, late in the quarter, Whiteman's shot won't fall and after some work, Thrasher gets it to go before the buzzer.
That pulled Vestal to within one, but no final score for this game was reported.
Downtown we go now. The Binghamton Patriots welcomed in the Ithaca Little Red.
Ithaca's Zach Peacock with the drive to the basket and drops it in.
Then, Isaiah Rogers crashing for Binghamton.
Drops it to Damani Mizell, and then Brandon Sprouse is there to finish.
Now, Max Milton kicks it to the top of the key for Isaac Butler, who goes up strong for the "and one".
Ithaca would begin to pull away in the last couple minutes as the Little Red take down Binghamton by a final of 66-53.
Last stop of the evening, the Seton Catholic Saints facing the Chenango Forks Blue Devils.
And the student section going for a little sleigh ride.
Peter Hartrick finds Michael Martin who knocks down the little turn around jumper.
Then, Leo Gallagher dishes it to Jonathan Williams for two down low.
Drive by Brett Rumpel, and the pretty feed under the defender to Tanner Sinicki who finishes.
Hartrick would lead the way in this one with 18 points and another dominating performance by Seton as the roll 86-36.
That'll keep the fans happy.
Love the festiveness, and the sweaters of course!
