High school basketball playoffs recap, 2/28/18

OWEGO, N.Y. - On Tuesday, we saw several teams advance in the Section IV boy's and girl's basketball tournaments.

The action continued on Wednesday with some more semifinal match-ups.

Let's head out to Owego for some Class B action.

The 2nd seeded Indians hosting the three seed, 20-0 Waverly.

Fourth quarter action.

Owego's Anna Felice drives the lane, and gets the lefty look to go.

Now, Elle Nittinger gets that to go to cut the lead to three.

She led all scorers with 31 points.

But, here comes Felice again.

She's fouled, and one! Felice led the Indians with 22.

Kaci Donovan chipped in 16 of her own.

Owego pulls off the upset and end Waverly's perfect season with a 61-57 win.

The Indians advance to the Class B finals on Saturday to face Susquehanna Valley, winners over Norwich tonight, 53-35.

Now for the boy's match-up, #1 Owego and #4 Waverly.

Fans of all ages, sizes, and species showed up for this one!

Early on, Kobe Bogart looking for somewhere to go, and he decided up is best.

Gets the basket.

Now, Jason Jequinto with the pull-up three for Waverly.

That cut the defecit to six.

But, Owego would pull away.

Will Donovan can't get it to go, but Christian Sage does. He's fired up!

This time, Donovan wouldn't miss.

All smiles for Owego.

Bogart led the way with 20 points, Sage added 15 as the Indians take it, 61-40.

So it'll be Owego vs Seton for the Class B championship on Saturday at the arena.

A couple other finals from Wednesday ... In Class C girl's, #1 Bainbridge-Guilford advanced to the section finals to face #3 Watkins Glen.

And #1 Delhi will face #2 Southern Cayuga in the Class D finals.
