Joe Daley putting across the green for eagle on par-5 11th, just misses, he taps in for birdie but withdrew shortly after because he got word he made it into the field in as an alternate.
Vestal native Tim Marsh putting for birdie on 11, lips out, disappointing par there. He shoots 75.
1996 US Open champ Steve Jones, awkward stance with his feet in the bunker on 18, hits it to 6ft, misses the par putt. But his 71 was good enough for a spot.
Patrick Horgan putting for par on 18, not a good effort there but he qualifies with a 73.
Dick Mast with a birdie putt on 18, jars it. He won the qualifier with a four under 68. He said the course played tough and he was proud of the number he put up.
"The greens were firm but fair, they had good pin placements, it was tucked and the wind picked up towards the end so that always makes a big difference. I felt like 67 was the number, it's been that way in the past, and then after I played a while it felt like 68 would probably be the number, but as it turned out it was well in there," said Mast.
Mast along with Steve Jones, Skip Taylor, Patrick Horgan and Peter Jordan grabbed the qualifying spots. First round play begins on Friday.
