Blue Raiders blank Patriots 2-0

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton High School boy's soccer team hosted Horseheads Monday night.

Early on, the Blue Raiders got two goals from senior Matt Gibbons, but from there on it was lights out for Patriots goalkeeper Wyatt Merta, who made some key stops to keep his team in the game.

Horseheads would continue to go on the attack in the second half.

Here, Merta having to deny Jarid Smith's opportunity.

And then on a corner kick for the Blue Raiders, Merta makes a leaping stop off a header.

The Patriots best look would come late off a free kick for Luka Rizzuto.

The ball eventually rolling free to Addison Gardner, but he puts it just wide of the goal.

And a great reaction from Rizzuto afterwards.

However in the end, Horseheads gets the shutout victory by a final score of 2-0.
