The decision to hold training camp overseas stems from an announcement by the Syracuse Crunch regarding a season-long partnership with the Lyon Hockey Club Lions of the Magnus League.
Syracuse invited Binghamton to participate in an effort to strengthen both the teams' and the AHL's international brand.
Executive Vice President of Operations Tom Mitchell thinks it will be a great experience for players both on and off the ice.
"Hockey in France is growing and I think it's all part of that plan. It's something a little bit different but an opportunity for our coaches and new players to get to know each other and bond a little bit. We will be back here roughly a week before the season starts. It should work out good. It will be different though," said Mitchell.
The B-Sens will arrive in France on Monday, Sept. 29, and will play three exhibition games, two against the Crunch and one against Grenoble of the Magnus League, before returning home on October 7th.
The B-Sens home opener is scheduled for October 11th.
