B-Mets Defeat Akron Rubber Ducks, 5-2

After a parade of hits to start the weekend series, the playoff bound B-Mets were looking for a sweep of the Akron Rubber Ducks.

The Binghamton Mets used a three-run first inning to energize a 5-2 victory and complete the sweep.

The team tallied 41 hits over the weekend.

T.J. Rivera highlighted the scorecard with a 3-for-4 performance.

Steven Matz tossed five scoreless innings and struck out six.

The B-Mets continue their final homestand of the regular season tonight against New Britain at 6:35 p.m.
