It started early this morning and fell at more than two inches an hour in some spots. As of 1 o'clock this afternoon there was 11.4 inches of the white stuff at the Greater Binghamton Airport according to the National Weather Service. Only about half an inch of snow has fallen since then.
A State of Emergency in Broome County was lifted at 11 a.m., two hours earlier than originally planned. Many government offices and even some doctors offices were closed or delayed their openings. Plow trucks have been out in full force.
And, even though schools were closed, kids weren't bored because there was plenty of shoveling to do.
