BAINBRIDGE, N.Y. - The sap is dripping through the sugar lines as the maple season has begun in our area.
Upstate Harvest in Bainbridge sells all sorts of maple products, including syrup, candy, maple cream, and even maple coated dog biscuits.
Owner Melody Bush purchased the former Baker's Maple last year and opened her retail operation.
Before that, she ran Bush's Syrup House and has been tapping trees and making syrup in Harpursville.
"We've been making maple syrup for about 22 years now. We started out with about 200 taps and every year we just add and build. Now we have 12,000. We do several farmers markets around the area. And we have this store to retail everything," said Bush.
Bush also has honey, pancake mix, meats, and other local products in her store.
Upstate Harvest is participating in the upcoming New York State Maple Weekends.
On March 17th and 18th and again on the 24th and 25th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, the store will offer free maple samples, tours, face painting, and a petting zoo.
