This week is National Volunteer Week. To mark that, Broome County United Way and the Oakdale Mall hosted a volunteer fair today.

Organizations throughout the area took part to highlight volunteer opportunities they have. The fair offered mall walkers a chance to learn about needs they can help fill in the agencies.

Carol Cass from Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial Church says volunteers are always needed for the many events the church holds including a 5K race, barbeque and a craft fair.

"We've got good and many volunteers, but we are always looking for new people and I know that there are a lot of volunteer opportunities that people are looking to volunteer for," said Cass.

The church also features Sarah's Shop which gives away clothing and household items to the community. The Shop is open Tuesdays and Thursdays.
