Union-Endicott's 'Tiger Ventures' program featured on national primetimeTV

ENDICOTT, N.Y. - A local school district will be featured on primetime national television Friday night for their efforts to reinvent high school.

Union-Endicott's Tiger Ventures Program will be a part of XQ Super School Live, airing Friday night on ABC and NBC.

The XQ Super School program is a national initiative that awarded $10 million to five school districts to restructure high school and promote innovation in K-12 education.

U-E won a $2.5 million consolation prize for Tiger Ventures, an alternative high school program at Linnaeus W West school that integrates entrepreneurial skills and creativity.

The one hour simulcast will feature Samuel L Jackson and Tom Hanks along with students and teachers.

The show features comedy; live music; and documentary segments on the past, present, and future of the American High School System.

The show can also be seen on a TV on the patio at Ty Cobb Stadium during U-E's Varsity Football game.

XQ Super School Live airs Friday at 8 p.m. on NewsChannel 34 and NBC-5.
