United Health Services hosted its 10th annual Weight Management Teaching Day in downtown Binghamton.

Health professionals from around the area came to hear about the latest research and new resources that are available for people they work with. Material was presented on obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

A Greater Binghamton man also gave his personal testimonial how he has lost 91 pounds over the past nine months.

"I think it's just important for consumers to know out there that their local community is doing a lot of initiatives in advocating for people who are overweight and obese. We're learning as much as we can to help our patients improve their health," said registered dietitian Christine Foy.

About 160 professionals attended.
