The Town of Union board will be considering whether or not to formally endorse Traditions proposed casino this week.

Traditions is competing against Tioga Downs and another business venture upstate for the Southern Tier's full-fledged casino license.

Each proposal must be backed by a resolution from the municipality that it would be located in.

The other two proposals already have their letters of support.

Union Town Supervisor Rose Sotak says Traditions will give a presentation of its project and the public can give input at this Wednesday's meeting.

"I think right now what we have been trying to do, instead of exactly saying who is supportive of what, is right now my feeling is that we are trying to listen to residents, what their suggestions are, what their concerns are, what their pros or nays are as far as the project," said Sotak.

Union's board meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Town Hall on Main Street in Endwell.
