Tioga Downs has plans to eventually add a family sports complex at its site in Nichols.

The racino is working to position itself for the Southern Tier's casino license and is competing against Traditions in Union and another business venture upstate.

Tioga owner Jeff Gural would like to add a miniature golf course and batting cages at his location. That project would be done once the license is secured and other enhancements like building a hotel and upgrading Tioga Country Club are underway.

Gural also says his destination casino is establishing relationships with the Finger Lakes wine industry and wants to offer bus tours to wineries. Gural says Tioga Downs, which already features New York State wines, can be the entrance to the Finger lakes.

"If you're going to go to all of the wineries and drink a glass of wine, it's not a good idea to be driving back afterwards. We've got a plan in place to shuttle people back and forth," said Gural.

Tioga Downs also plans to build another restaurant if it secures the license.
