Tim Tebow plays first spring training game with Mets

Tebow still expected to start the season in Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - New York Mets outfielder Tim Tebow played in his first Spring Training game after injuring his ankle last week.

The 30-year old former NFL quarterback turned MLB hopeful went 0 for 2 Tuesday in his first appearance in Spring Training.

Tebow sprained his ankle last week after tripping over a sprinkler head in the outfield.

The New York Post reported Wednesday that Tebow is still expected to start the season playing for the Rumble Ponies here in Binghamton.
