"The Illusionists" magic show comes to Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The world's best-selling touring magic show is in Binghamton for three shows on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Illusionists brings together seven celebrated magicians in one show.

The producers promise hilarious magic tricks, death-defying stunts and acts of breathtaking wonder.

Each performer has a separate specialty and persona, from The Trickster and The Escapologist to The Deductionist and The Manipulator to The Weapon master and The Anti-Conjuror.

Kevin James is The Inventor.

He says the trick itself isn't nearly as important as the showmanship.

"You want it to resonate somehow emotionally. You want it to be relevant to today's audience. So, you have to select your costume, your music, your lighting, your body position, your timing. It's all those other little decisions that matter, that add up to a piece of art," said James.

The show is being presented at the Forum Theatre in downtown Binghamton.

Showtimes are 7:30 Tuesday and 4:30 and 7:30 on Wednesday.
