BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Agency is moving its operation to a one-stop-shop for everything economic development.
The Agency held an open house to reveal its new home at Five South College Drive on the SUNY Broome Campus Wednesday night.
The two-story, over 17,000 square foot facility is housing the Agency, the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, along with a new full-service Visions banking branch.
Before, the Chamber and Agency were located in different spaces around Downtown Binghamton.
Agency Executive Director Kevin McLaughlin says it's more beneficial to have them under one roof.
"People have been dreaming about this for over 30 years, and it's finally come to fruition. We are excited to have the Chamber and all of our other partners here. We think that it's important to the community to have everybody together in one building," said McLaughlin.
The building includes offices, conferences rooms along with open spaces for collaboration, including the Senator Tom Libous Community Room.
The late Senator secured a $4.3 million grant to help fund the construction of the building.
