Suspect wanted in multiple thefts in Broome County found in Corning

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The suspect sought in connection with a series of thefts in Broome County, Pennsylvania, and Florida has been arrested.

Sixty-one-year-old Donald R. Fike was found by New York State Police in the Town of Corning last Thursday

On April 10, Fike was allegedly seen on surveillance video smashing a car window then taking an item in the parking lot behind the Skylar Diner in Vestal.

Later that day, video also captured him taking an employee's purse at the Sunoco station at 704 Old Front Street in the Town of Dickinson.

He allegedly returned to the Skylark Diner on April 12, where he was confronted and fled prior to police arrival.

Fike is charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third and fourth degree. 

Additional charges are expected to be filed by the Vestal Police, Broome County Sheriff’s Office, and the Pennsylvania State Police.

He is in the custody of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.

Fike is currently wanted in Arizona as a parole violator and is also wanted in Oklahoma for Theft of Property.
