SUNY Broome Housing Complex Flooded

- Part of SUNY Broome's new student housing complex has flooded.

Six suites sustained water damage after a plumbing fitting on a hot water heater failed.

College President Kevin Drumm said crews have been working non-stop to repair the damage, which includes to drywall, flooring, and furniture.

All similar plumbing connections have been re-inspected.

Drumm said the residence halls will be ready to open, as scheduled, on August 30, which is dubbed "move-in day."

The project's construction insurance will cover the restoration work.
